Our Stars and Stripes Sunday was truly a delightful experience – and most of all, I hope it leaves a sense in everyone’s heart of the priceless gift of liberty we have in the USA. So many enriching insights about courage and a passion for excellence came through General Teichert’s message and the fellowship we shared as veterans were being thanked for their service to our great nation. In the waning two and a half weeks left in the 2024 Election season, we know that the most crucial of choices is in the hands of ordinary citizens.
In his message on being ambassadors for Christ in our culture, General John Teichert related the bold vision of Daniel and the courage of his companions to the tasks we face today. We represent an unshakeable Kingdom and that, as well, is why in our Hebrews series, we’re seeing the foundation for unshakable faith. Genuine faith isn’t fragile. Its anchor is in the eternal conquest of our risen King!
Thanks so much to each of you who gave extra in our shared love offering for Samaritan’s Purse. The total over a couple of weeks of giving was $2659 and one more time, I’ll invite anyone who may have missed us on the 6th or the 13th, to participate in the Samaritans Purse offering. You can write a separate check to Liberty Church and add “S.P.” or “Samaritan’s Purse” on the memo line or designate a portion of an offering in a single check. You may also mail an offering to Liberty Church P.O. Box 295, Westminster MD 21158. Any funds designated for them or for other 501(c)3 organizations can be donated through Liberty. Thanks also for those who have seen the need that is ongoing for increased support of your church.
Online givers via both PayPal and our new Contribution processor (Vanco) are making a difference. We share priceless treasures as givers – one of the ministries available to every believer. Many thanks to each of you for your prayerful support.
Along with updates I’ve shared previously, the pre-Thanksgiving season also brings us some special blessings. We love the togetherness that the Holy Spirit brings as we recognize needs, gifts, talents and skills among God’s people! I see it each week and it truly a fulfilment of vision we have nurtured by faith for the growth and development of Liberty Church.
Our family game night this evening (October 19th) is one of the special times together that has come from the Ladies Love-in-Action ministry, planning fellowship opportunities for the church.
Our Wednesday prayer gatherings are at 7:00 PM ~ and all are welcome. We so appreciate Lou Enoff leading the prayer times and invite you to join in.
Operation Christmas Child is an ongoing opportunity in this season to participate in blessing children in many parts of the world. Take information from the OCC table and share it with friends. There are many ways to participate and/or to donate directly to Operation Christmas Child via the Samaritans Purse website.
On November 10th, I’ll share a message on “the household of faith” that includes introducing the role(s) of elders and deacons for our congregation. There are a variety of spiritual and practical duties that we’re defining more specifically in this season. Our goal is for all that we do to contribute to “equipping the saints for deeds of service…” as Ephesians 4:12 describes, but with a fresh application to the times we’re living in today. I look forward to sharing these new steps as I invite your prayers for all who serve in any capacity in the life of our church.
