Greetings to you all!

It’s been truly delightful this week to have the assistance of friends who love the Lord helping prepare to welcome our special guests tomorrow, retired USAF Brigadier General E. John Teichert and his wife, Melonie.
We need your help in making our StarStripes service a reminder of the priceless gift(s) we all share as Americans.
On this beautiful fall weekend, we hope you’ll think of a veteran you may invite to join us on Sunday or bring a friend or a neighbor. Our Stars and Stripes service brings us the story of a leader’s life, whose love for America comes shining through in his call for followers of Jesus to be active in the civic life of the nation. In his new book, Prayers for a Nation, retired General E. John Teichert shares fascinating stories and analogies aimed at helping people from all walks of life experience the vitality of praying boldly and faithfully for America in any season of life, whether good times or bad.
As a former Commander of two Air Force bases, a fighter pilot with over 2000 flight hours in 38 types of aircraft, John Teichert’s story inspires others to serve. As an expert in national security, defense strategy and an innovative leader in the field of aeronautics, he provides a perspective on the challenges the nation faces that is enlightening and encouraging.
Along with devotion to family, country and congregation, Teicher taps into his experiences to challenge others to pursue excellence with energetic dedication to whatever task, vocation, ministry or endeavor will help others find the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Samaritans Purse ~ Volunteers In Action in Many Storm-ravaged Communities

Thanks to all the givers in support of our Samaritan’s Purse offering last Sunday!
Gifts from many of you totaling $2428 is a contribution to help in the crisis that has swept across so many communities in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida in the wake of two hurricanes and many tornadoes. As rescuerecovery and restoration of homes, churches, businesses and communities continues, we lift Samaritans Purse teams and many other ministries in prayer. Although last Sunday was a special offering, you are welcome any Sunday to add a designated gift for Samaritans Purse. If you missed the opportunity to participate last Sunday, please feel free to add your gift tomorrow for this urgent need. [Place your check(s) in the Contribution lockbox on Liberty’s Connections Table.] Any pre-designated funds such as those are given directly to the ministry organization. Make your check payable to Liberty Church and add either “S.P.” or “Samaritans Purse” on the memo line. For Liberty Church, the general fund and our “Rainy Day fund” continue to be the primary areas of need for increased support. Your generosity is deeply appreciated.

A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows
