Greetings to you all

Testimony is a powerful principle that inspires, enlightens and encourages others in countless ways.
Giving God glory from grateful hearts brings rich insights for the tough times in life when we need reminders to not forget in the darkness what we knew to be true in the light!
Surely in the cultural and national crisis we’re seeing breaking loose in our country, we need the insights and examples that He sends us through testimonies.
A classic example is in the words of the Apostle Paul:
“This is a true and faithful saying that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners,
of whom I am chief. The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly….”
(I Timothy 1:15 and 14a)

We get snapshots of Paul’s story in verses like these and so much more colorful detail through the pen of Luke who wrote expanded versions of Paul’s story in the Book of Acts.
Even as we cope with stressful situations that require our attention, there’s a quiet and continuous grace that was promised by the Lord Jesus, to shape the “witness” He gives to each of us.
That very stream of grace that the Apostle Paul experienced being “poured out abundantly” is working in and among the redeemed. It’s one of the tools God gives us to stay focused on His purpose when so many things in our nation seem to be nearing a perilous edge of danger.
If it was true for the Apostle Paul living under the threat of imprisonment in several parts of the Roman Empire, it’s certainly true for us, in such a time as this.
The Gospel not only calls us into “His glorious light”. It also shows us the pattern (modeled by Paul) of “testimony” as a gift from God.
We forget at times that every true worshiper trusting in Christ alone, through faith in His redeeming blood has a testimony – and how good it is to hear them whenever we can.
We get that opportunity this Sunday with our friend Ted Schwarz who is on break from medical school in Philadelphia. In Ted’s walk with God and his academic work toward his goal of being a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, his testimony for Jesus is a pleasure to share.
     Welcome Ted!
Also, next Sunday (June 9th) I’m grateful for Justin Ready ministering God’s Word while Becky and I are away on vacation in several parts of Virginia.
Join us for Cafe Liberty in the half hour prior to 10:15 AM worship, if you can. We love to re-connect with refreshments and link up together to welcome new friends.

Water Baptism Orientation ~ the basics on believers’ baptism and a Q&A opportunity open for members, guests and friends.
At the heart of the Great Commission is a command that represents our wholehearted response in active faith to the glory of the Risen Lord! His command
includes the experience of baptism.  Our upcoming water baptism class on Wednesday June 19th at 7:00 PM is an opportunity for parents of any child or teenager who has yet to take this vital step in his or her walk with the Lord.
In these sessions, we open God’s Word to see how baptism activates faith and empowers a rich understanding of the calling of Jesus for each of us. Then we’ll cover a few practical steps that help us serve each person and his or her friends and family members.
It’s our goal to walk alongside those who have questions in any area of spiritual growth.  We look forward to seeing you and/or welcoming anyone in your family or among your friends who would like to learn more about baptism.
