Greetings friends!
Join us tomorrow morning for Café Liberty from 9:45 until Worship @ 10:15 AM.
As the busy weeks of summer take us in varied directions, please put our annual church cookout event on Sunday August 27th on your calendar and give us your RSVP on the Connections Table sign-up sheet. We love these times together and hope you can join us for great food, outdoor activities and fellowship on August 27th.
Tomorrow, we continue our going-for-God’s-gold goal for the shaping of hearts and minds for Christ.
These Bible meditation principles are accessible to worshipers of all ages. For kids and adults the capacity to take a verse of Scripture as nourishment for our souls is empowering and encouraging.
I still remember the way a Sunday School teacher presented the cross and the cleansing power of the blood of Christ to me as a ten-year-old. The staying power of a dynamic truth is one of many reasons that meditating on Scripture is such an enriching part of devotional life. It can be worked into even the busiest of days as well as being enjoyed in times of recreation or travel.
At the heart of the good news of Jesus is a goal that shapes the way we take on new challenges in our lives. It’s the calling into a disciple-walk. Its two parts are “becoming a disciple” and having an active role in “making disciples”.
Holding that as our big picture, so-to-speak, we see the simple steps of faith in church life as part of a pattern of disciple-life and disciple-making that helps “equip the saints for works of service for the edifying of the Body of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:12)
For that reason, as I’ve often said, we are grateful for those who are teaching children in Kids Ministry, those who minister in music, those who prepare and serve coffee and treats in Café Liberty and the media/tech team as well as those who serve the Lord by taking on varied tasks that are often done quietly and in ways that are not as obvious to others. Each act of caring service for the glory of Jesus is honored here at Liberty Church.
We also love to share and celebrate the breakthroughs God gives people in need through ministries in the community that share our core values.
I want to highlight two of these today:
First, Dads Works and Moms Works, the non-profit community-based work led by David and Diane Berry has their annual Daddy/Daughter Dance next weekend, July 17th. This annual event creates special memories for families and raises awareness of what DW/MW accomplishes.

Secondly, a special outing for men on the afternoon of Sunday, June 26th is a time for guys to meet up for a Frederick Keys baseball game and cookout sponsored by Taneytown Men of Faith. Men are invited to meet at Section 206 at Nymeo Field in Frederick OR carpool from Evapco Inc. on Route 194 in Taneytown for the game. You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
