Greetings to you all
Welcome to Cafe Liberty in the half hour prior to 10:15 AM Worship. We so appreciate the coffee and treats preparations of the volunteers serving each Sunday. Join us for great coffee and fellowship as we all enjoy a brief but blessed connection point before the busy week ahead.
Heartbreaking news from the skies over Washington D.C., and Philadelphia has again brought Americans a reminder of how fragile life can be. In both disasters – one on Wednesday night and the other on Friday, the shock of such tragic losses of life will impact many homes and communities this weekend. In solidarity with those who have lost so much, we pray for the empowering grace of the Holy Spirit to bring hope and healing to the hearts of those who mourn.
In so many areas of life, God’s empathy is a gift we carry to those whose paths we cross at work or at home, in classrooms, offices, shops and restaurants. With instantaneous media making “virtual” space a kind of shared experience, the need for comfort, togetherness, listening, prayer and conversation in daily life has never been greater.
With the deep comfort that only the Holy Spirit can give, we are each called to the task that Paul the Apostle explained:
“Encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God,
who calls you into His kingdom and glory.”
(I Thessalonians 2:12 NIV)

“The Sovereign LORD comes with power, and He rules with a mighty arm.
Behold, His reward is with Him and His recompense accompanies Him.
He tends His flock like a shepherd; He gathers the lamb in His arms
and carries them close to His heart.”
(Isaiah 40:10-11)
