Greetings Liberty family & friends
This New Years Eve weekend is unusual for Becky and me – and I’ll explain that in a moment.
But first we want to wish you all a very happy New Year!🎉
Also, the RE-START of Cafe Liberty tomorrow is an ideal time to re-connect, encourage and link up with our faithful Cafe Liberty team members. Giving a warm welcome to each person who finds Liberty Church, for his or her first visit and in every arrival, is a ministry we all share. Help our team by joining in between 9:45 and 10:10 AM – it’s such a joy to see each of you.
Among the many blessings God sent us in 2023 are new members who stepped in to serve the Lord in many more ways than I can cite here. Thanks to each of you who have volunteered your time and talents to take on tasks that undergird our goal for worshipers to find God’s oasis of refreshing through Christ’s presence among His people.
Now our news: On Wednesday evening, Becky and I both were feeling the onset of something that’s definitely not fun. Her sore throat symptoms were worse than mine but by late Wednesday night we knew we both had….something…or something else or something!
We found out Thursday morning it’s both a strep infection and COVID, so we started the antibiotics and quarantine at home to get well.
We’ll be joining in via live-stream tomorrow and so appreciate those who are ministering to you in worship and the Word. Thanks so much to Josiah for leading worship and for Justin’s message and for Jerry and Patty Reese sharing our concluding Advent reflection. May each step you take in anticipation of a new year be empowered by grace and anchored in Christ!
We also want to thank all who have given an extra offering in any amount for general fund and/or missions giving in the last weeks of 2023. For those who mailed your offerings for the church and for the Challenge Farm mission, a special thanks for such generosity and care! It’s deeply appreciated.
Offerings (undesignated) for the general fund are still, at present, the highest priority need.
An additional area of need is to replenish funds in our “Barnabas Box”, a category which is currently zeroed out. This is a designation that can be made on any check or offering envelope to add funds to a cash reserve that we set up for benevolence. Even small amounts in that designation are helpful.
Also, the option of giving securely via a credit card (or PayPal) is easily accessible on our Giving page.
Many thanks to those who have used the online giving option this year – your gifts make a difference!

“In God is my salvation and my glory
The rock of my strength ~ my refuge is in God.
Trust in Him at all times, you people
Pour out year heart before Him!
God is a refuge for us. Selah”
